Key rules

  • § 2.19.1p. 2-37

An acceleration skid usually stops when you take your foot off the gas. If the road is very slippery, also push in the clutch so the engine does not hold the wheels back and they can roll and regain traction.

    Drive-wheel Skids

  • § 2.19.2p. 2-37

Locked wheels have less grip than rolling wheels, so the rear slides sideways. Releasing the brakes lets the rear wheels turn again and stops the slide.
