Key rules

  • § 2.18.5p. 2-36

ABS on the tractor alone helps you keep steering control and lowers the chance of a jackknife, but the trailer can still swing out. If it starts to, ease off the brakes when it is safe to do so.

ABS on the Tractor Only or Only on the Trailer

  • § 2.18p. 2-36

ABS is an add-on to your normal brakes. Sensors watch for a wheel that is about to lock, and only then does the ECU lower brake pressure. The rest of the time your brakes work normally.
