Mississippi CDL permit practice test
A Mississippi Class A learner permit (CLP) takes three knowledge tests: General Knowledge, which every applicant takes; Combination Vehicles; and Air Brakes, if your truck has air brakes (Mississippi CDL Manual, March 2025, 1.1.1, p. 1-5). You need 80% on each test, the federal rule for every state (49 CFR 383.135).

Questions drivers ask

- 80% on each test. That's the federal rule for every state's CDL knowledge tests, and each test is scored on its own.

- What tests do I need for a Class A CDL permit in Mississippi?
- General Knowledge, which every applicant takes; Combination Vehicles, which you need to drive combination vehicles; and Air Brakes, if your vehicle has air brakes. Skip or fail Air Brakes and your CLP or CDL carries the L restriction, no air brakes.

- How many questions are on the Mississippi CDL permit test?
