Key rules

  • § 2.6.7p. 2-16

Speeding traffic is the leading cause of injuries and deaths in work zones. Always obey the posted work zone limit, and slow down even more when a worker is near the roadway.

    Roadway Work Zones

  • § 2.6.5p. 2-15

When everyone moves in the same direction at the same speed, collisions are unlikely. Match the flow when you can do it legally and safely, and still keep a safe following distance.

    Speed and Traffic Flow

  • § 2.6.2p. 2-15

When the tires ride up on water they lose traction. Let off the accelerator and push in the clutch so the truck slows and the wheels turn freely, and do not brake.
